Seven Mile Medical Clinic had a table at the well attended annual Heart Heroes Luncheon on September 28th 2018. The luncheon is a grand event and celebrates survivors of cardiovascular disease. It also alerts the community regarding heart disease risks and what they can do in their own lives. There were a variety of tables present showing different aspects of heart health and overall wellness. Kristen Lomas, Registered Dietitian at Seven Mile Medical Clinic had a booth discussing the importance of heart healthy foods, visuals showing proper portions, and an emphasis on plant based foods full of color and nutrients. She talked with many of the attendees regarding their own health and what they could do in terms of food choices to lower their heart disease risk and increase overall wellness.
Seven Mile Medical Clinic participates in these types of events as often as possible to continue with its missions of health education.
